Leejay, Random Abiladeze, Ruby Ibarra - Epic Kitchen Raps
This video is really cool. So is Ruby Ibarra who also did a really cool rap/spoken word bit recently too. She apparently goes to Davis not that I facebook stalked her. This is just me unhealthily consuming new APA media from across the internet and spreading it to here.
The Knife, in collab. w/Mt. Sims and Planningtorock - Tomorrow, In a Year
This is an embedded playlist of the new album by The Knife (in collab w/Mt. Sims and Planningtorock)... Tomorrow, In a Year! The album is made in an opera format and is about Darwin's theory of evolution. My favorite track is "Colouring of Pigeons", which is in the 2nd CD. I like the songs in the second CD more, personally (just because they seem more like actual 'songs'). The first CD, though, is more of a creative interpretation of "the theory of evolution in music" (the last song of the first CD, "Letter to Henslow", is even a song comprised completely of bird-sounding noises!).
You can pre-order the CD at theknife.net, and receive an MP3 download instantly! The album is to be released on March 1, 2010. Love the Knife!

Hot Chip - One Life Stand (MySpace Exclusive)
Hot Chip | MySpace Music Videos
Hot Chip!! I honestly haven't heard their other songs besides "Ready for the Floor" (and a few that I do not recall). BUT, I know that they have a new album, One Life Stand, coming out FEBRUARY 1! The actual track "One Life Stand" sounds good already. Looking forward to the album!

Blyss - Do You Remember
I caught this off ChannelAPA. It's catchy. I like it better than the original song.
"Set The Fire to the Third Bar" by Snow Patrol & Martha Wainwright
This is in the trailer for Dear John (featuring this one girl from Mean Girls). Man, it's a pretty tight song.

moneen - hold that sound
I wish there was an embeddable video of "start angry... end mad" but whatever. I'm surprised they're still around, honestly.

The Make Believe - Some Know I Passed (Skip)
I just heard of this band by my friend Pudi, because he's in it =P He plays the drums for them, and they seem like a chill band. Not my favorite, but I could see them doing pretty good for themselves. They're going to be playing at Chain Reaction in Anaheim on Wednesday at 830 for $10 if anyone wants to go. Enjoy =)
THEME: Rainy Day Songs (Mika - Rain)
MIKA - RAIN
Rainy day songs, anyone? (Here are some songs I know that are about rain or have a rain theme throughout.)
Seal - Love's Divine
ELO - The Rain is Falling
Madonna - Rain
Eh, this is all I can recall right now. I should be studying, ha.
"Horchata" by Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend is one of those bands that take me forever to get into. Not because I'm not interested but because I'm too busy spinning Kid A to listen. But I really dig them; really intricate arrangements.
Dre ft. Chris Brown - Erased
Dan "The Man" Anthony Barcelon sent me this song.

Blink 182 - Stay Together for the Kids
Tom shouldn't be in the band any more. He's lost his credentials as a musician.
Travis is just as awesome as ever. Mark's voice has matured a lot. I wish he had stuck with +44

"We Own the Sky" by M83
Wazzup CLIT-commandos? M83 is definitely one of my favorite bands, probably in my top 20. It's like electronica but with a more indie rock feel to it. I dig this video.

Tal Bachman - Aeroplane
I don't know if anyone has seen American Pie: Band Camp, one of the last good American Pie movies IMO. This is the composition "Elyse" uses throughout the film. I loved the composition and have been looking for it for the longest time until tonight when I found out that it was really the instrumental to Tal Bachman's Aeroplane. Hope you like it, I sure feel like a winner =)

"At Your Funeral" by Saves the Day
My friend and I were going over the albums of the past decade that we felt were truly inspirational or we just straight-up dug. I think the first band I ever really liked was Blink-182. Then through the skate punk scene I'd learn about bands like Home Grown and etc. Then Napster came along and I found out about The Get Up Kids and then later I learned about some band called Saves the Day. This was in my teens, and for sure, out of that whole 2000-2005 era, Saves the Day was one of those bands that really shaped my musicianship. This one is from my favorite Saves the Day album, Stay What You Are.
