Parades - Loserspeak in New Tongue
A friend of mine with a great taste in music told me about this art rock band, Parades, not too long ago. The band originated in Australia like our good friend Empire of the Sun.
"Loserspeak in New Tongue" is one of the many songs that stood out to me in Parades's album Foreign Tapes, released in April 2010.

Oh look, it's passed midnight.

Nothing to Lose - If Dreams Were Real
This is actually a really cool find for me. I was going through my stuff and found a bunch of old mix CDs from high school. Among the songs was this.
Nothing to Lose was one of my favorite bands in the San Diego pop punk scene. These guys, along with Noise Ratchet, Counterfit, and Larger than Life were some of my favorite bands back in the day.

The Pass - Colors
The Knife. The National. The Temper Trap (huh?).
And now, The Pass--a psychedelic synth pop band from Louisville, Kentucky. Founded in 2008 (well, according to their MySpace), The Pass seems to have a bright future ahead of them with songs like "Colors", "Treatment of the Sun", and "Crosswalk Stereo" (the beginning of "Crosswalk" does admittedly sound like the beginning of Phoenix's "1901", but not in a conscious effort, according to this interview).
I also appreciate the fact that The Pass likes La Roux! How could I not like them?
