Like when I first saw the band "Nurses" on somebody's blog, I couldn't help but wonder how a band named "Tennis" would sound when I spotted the band name on HypeM.

Thankfully, it was a serendipitous occasion.

I only heard their other song "Take Me Somewhere" from their MySpace (give it a listen). Overall, I like them. Simple, sweet. Somehow makes me feel nostalgic, although I don't know why. Their vocals do bear a resemblance to CocoRosie, though (in my opinion).

This is one of my favorite songs in the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie soundtrack. In the movie, one of the characters' bands performs a cover of this song, and they did an amazing job! The original was created by the band Metric, a Canadian indie rock band. It's ironic because the movie's setting is based in Canada and the rock band that performs this song in the movie is a Canadian band. Funny how everything parallels, but maybe that was on purpose?

Anyways, the original song is absolutely amazing and I love it! Plus: watch Scott Pilgrim vs. The World -- it's got some GREAT music, and is a totally artsy film.

My friend JD went to go to see The National, She & Him, and Local Natives back in October. I was supposed to go to the concert with him, but some things popped up. Anyways, this CD [along with Ra Ra Riot] have been spinning in my car for the past month. They have been described numerous times as "the West Coast's answer to Grizzly Bear" (or as JD rephrased it, "Grizzly Bear's immature little brother").
