I picked up this album at Sam's Club today. From first listen, I thought it was super different from anything I've heard from her before, but after reading a few bios on her, it's not too different from anything
she's done before. Corinne Bailey Rae once headed an indie rock band called Helen that eventually signed to Road Runner Records - a heavy metal label with such acts as Slipknot. Anyways, her album is bomb. It's like Leonard Cohen jamming with Curtis Mayfield with the progressiveness of Sly and the Family Stone.
