"Stole Your Heart" by Annie Little and Marcus Ashley
This is a song featured on one of the commercials for Amazon Kindle.
Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside
I found out about this song from Mark's friend's blog: girlmusic.
Anyways, Broken Bells is a fairly new American indie rock band, active since 2009. The band consists of two people, James Mercer and Brian Burton (aka "Danger Mouse"). If you're interested in them, check out their site: www.brokenbells.com
I really like the sound of this band. If you want to listen to their first single, "The High Road," then [expand post]! I really like that song as well.

Ciarra Marie - Call You Mine
My friend Catherine and I were jamming today after I helped her with Accounting homework.
She then introduced me to her friend Ciarra who plays the guitar/ukelele.
She told me how this song was written for her and I thought that was pretty cool and I'd share this with you all.

Sublime with Rome - What I Got
I've been hearing the new song on the radio, liking the fact that I've been hearing ska on the radio, but not really realizing what's going.
If you didn't realize this like me, basically, two other guys in band wanted to start again, but Brad Nowell's family didn't want them to use the sublime name. In any case, they settled and now they're "sublime with rome" with this guy Rome Ramirez and I can't figure out if he's done anything before.
He's got a decent voice, but he's not Brad Nowell, and I hope he doesn't try to be. I liken it to Catch-22 after Tomas Kalnoky except Kalnoky is still alive and the bitterness was between members and family rather than members and ex-members.

Timothy Victor - This is My City
I can't get this song out of my head. I've been bumming and decided to watch all of Series 2 of Skins--I had seen Series 1 a year ago, or so. It's featured at the end of episode 9 which is Cassie's episode. Very strong episode with a great song to end it. It was a huge sensation when it aired in 2008 and NO ONE could find ANY information on the composer/singer/band. I had trouble finding it even now, 2 years later, but found it and here it is. Fantastic mix of Adele-like lyrics and haunting piano/violin synergistic medley. Video after the break...
YUM.
PS Maine, I haven't added to The Wire Box in ages, so feel free to clean up? :D

Yes Giantess - Tuff N Stuff
I discovered this song while visiting the Tumblr of an acquaintance. Very much Passion Pit. AND, I discovered (on their Myspace) that this group, Yes Giantess, toured with LA ROUX. Now I'm even more intrigued. I will definitely follow these guys.
PLUS, they COVERED La Roux's "I'm Not Your Toy"!! Click this link (from their TUMBLR) to listen: http://www.chasenicholl.com/yesgiantess_imnotyourtoy.mp3.
"Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO
Electric Light Orchestra, good stuff. Just want to take a moment to throw in a mini-promo to 2 new music blogs you should check out: THIS IS CEREAL and GirlMusic, run by myself and my friend JD, respectively. I ain't bailing from WireBox; I just want to have a place to post more underground bands - maybe even help provide exposure to some bands. Enjoy!

Nujabes - Kumoni
Thank you for the reflections, they are surely eternal.
Thank you for the latitudes, the flowers, the world ending in rhapsodies, the horizons, the eclipses, the hoping and counting stars, the song of the seasons, the kumoni’s, the mystlines, the peacelands, the luv sics, your music from Samurai Champloo, your mixtapes, and every single track that made my day and made my struggles eased.
Thank you for giving me your style, your genre, your originality, your flavor, your soul, and your love.

"Ring the Bell" by YACHT
I was watching this show on Independent Film Channel called Dinner with the Band, and YACHT was one of the bands on the show.
Big Star - Thirteen
Just found out Alex Chilton died before he could play at SXSW. Sad. Probably should do one of these for Nujabes too, huh?

Leona Lewis - My Hands
This is the theme song for the NA and EUR version of Final Fantasy XIII. Is anyone else confused or just me?
Regardless, I like the battle system for the most part, but it's otherwise a fairly lackluster game. I'm guessing square wanted to make a pretty looking game that's fun to play, but not really engaging otherwise. Also, the only character remotely likable is Sazh. He's a BAMF.

Streetlight Manifesto - Such Great Heights
I loathed the Iron & Wine cover of this song. This is a bit more interesting and entertaining.
Streetlight's 99 Songs of the Revolution comes out today featuring a number of covers including this one. A ska band cover album, another one? I don't know what it is with punk music and covers, but hey, this is still pretty interesting.

Fang Island - Daisy
Today, I received the following text:
Pick up Yarn Island's ST at some point. Band describes it as "high fiving everyone at once" and it's a pretty good description.

Clara Chung - Winner of Kollaboration 10
Top three were clearly her, Bhangra Empire and Jason Yang. I honestly wasn't sure in which order to rank them though. I've got to admit, playing a song no one there had ever heard was pretty gutsy on her part.

Charice ft. Iyaz - "Pyramid"
The song is pretty standard, I'm just kind of surprised that she collabed with Iyaz 0.o
Speaking of collabs, my girlfriend won tickets to Kollaboration through Disgrasian. So yes, you should all be freaking jealous.

Jimmy Eat World - Half Right
Their cover of the Heatmiser song, which they reference in their song "Kill." They give it a fuller sound than the old recordings of Heatmiser or the acoustic version that ended up on the Elliott Smith "New Moon" album. It also gives it a bit more poppier radio friendly sound in that sense.
But it's still, in my opinion, one of the prettiest songs ever written.
Origa - Inner Universe
From the anime "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex".
The song is sung in three different languages: Latin, Russian and English.
