I was at my friend David's house, and our friend Kurt was playing Left 4 Dead 2 on XBOX 360. David decides to fire up some music on his cell phone and proceeds to tell me how this band's (Wavves') new album is being compared to a "hipster Blink-182 cover band" [I paraphrased]. Then he says, "But this song sounds like Animal Collective," and he puts on "Mickey Mouse." Super chill song. They are playing with a bunch of other bands in the hipster capital of LA, Echo Park (I'm sure many would argue Silver Lake) for a festival called F*CK YEAH FESTIVAL on September 4.
