Zeigeist - Wrecked Metal (cello version)
Zeigeist | Wrecked Metal (cello version)
Art + Music = Zeigeist. The original version of "Wrecked Metal" is after the cut, which is still very enjoyable! For homework, I would actually prefer to listen to the cello version, but the original version is of course way better for dancing!
On the contrary, the song--although catchy and romantic--has a melancholy undertone. The lyrics (posted after the cut) and title appear to refer to a deliberate car crash as a successful attempt by two lovers to commit suicide. Got this idea from Song Meanings and speculation.
Zeigeist | Wrecked Metal
Press your foot down, like I told you
See the houses, rush on by
Reach out your hand, touch my arm and
Let me breath you, as you cry
I can hardly wait
Hope we won't be late
And you know it's time
Just ignore all signs
The goal is, to get there
Without fear, in high speed
We dance through, the darkness
We won't stop, 'til we're stopped
Suck my thumb and, feel my finger
as it wipes your, tears away
Watch the concrete, come on closer
Marks of us will, always stay
Face is aged by fear
Pass along the weir
And we wont grow old
Corpse look fine when cold
The goal is, to get there
Without fear, in high speed
We dance through, the darkness
We won't stop, 'til we're stopped
