David Bazan, and Christian Hipsters

Andrew Sullivan (or rather, his guest bloggers) has been doing this bit looking at Christian hipsters, but focusing mainly on music. Sufjan Stevens and Belle & Sebastian mention among them. Today, he posted about David Bazan (and posted an email I sent him).In any case, I'm not sure that David Bazan can really be considered Christian or Hipster. he's in his 30s, though he has the beard, and he doesn't really dress or act in the way you'd expect of a Hipster. And of course, he no longer identifies as Christian. Nevertheless, his legacy of piercing, honest music about God remains.

"productivity"

Yeah this song kind of represents just how productive I've felt this summer. I have most of Bazan's stuff, though I think I'm missing a few. Definitely missing a lot of his more recent stuff, though I prefer Pedro the Lion to Headphones or whatever he's doing now.

UO

I got into underOATH when I was a sophomore in high school. I can relate myself to majority of their songs from their albums "The Changing of Times", "They're Only Chasing Safety", and "Define the Great Line" from personal experiences. This is one of the songs that grasps me the most.

Topic: Praise and Worship

Who's down with the P&W? I know I am. I'm more into the contemporary Christian praise and worship songs than gospel, but I'm cool with that too. I just got back from a retreat in San Diego, and I heard some new songs I had never heard before. I loved them all. Now I'm wondering, what is everyone's favorite praise and worship songs? Mine is definitely The Stand right now, they played it so beautifully at Steubenville.

Here's a couple of new songs I heard this weekend that I've never heard before:
