The Juliana Theory, Live at UCSD in 2003
Yes it's 45 minutes long. Yes, it's a full concert. Yes, Brett Detar is a douchebag. No, I don't understand his dancing.
TJT had a reunion tour this past summer. I liked their last album a lot. I'm sad this footage was too early for that.

Ace Enders & a Million Different People
This is pretty cool. I can identify a few people by voice, but I'm not too familiar with the full list. According to wiki:
The song involves multiple artists including Mark Hoppus [blink182], Aaron Marsh [copeland], Craig Owens [chiodos], Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low, Bryce Avary [the rocket summer], Kenny Vasoli [the starting line], Matt Thiessen [relient k], and Duane Okun[socratic]

The Starting Line - Best of Me
OMG that hair, that tight t-shirt, that really fast guitar change, that weird obsession with John Cusack movies.
That's how you know it's emo, heh.

moneen - hold that sound
I wish there was an embeddable video of "start angry... end mad" but whatever. I'm surprised they're still around, honestly.

Blue Boy - Texas is the Reason
Before emo was singing about black parades and such, it was really known to be born from the ashes of punk rock, characterized by raw vocals and sparse production. It's rare you'll find a band like that nowadays. Okay not really. But I am very sure that Texas is the Reason is definitely one of my favorite old school emo bands. I first found out about them from a friend who use to Kazaa the shit out of her computer. Actually, I remember her showing me Dashboard Confessional for the first time when his first album (Swiss Army Romance) was "leaked." I'm not saying I heard about them first, but hearing the leaked version of Swiss Army Romance is probably as OG as seeing Adam [of the book of Genesis] as a fetus.

woo demos
This seems to happen a lot with Brand new, but these demos definitely sound a lot more like demos than their previous set. I really like this vocal lacking track which sounds a bit reminiscent of Your Favorite Weapon. But my guess is most of Daisy will sound like this:
There's a lot of live videos and demos of their new stuff on youtube, so yeah.

Sunny Day Real Estate - Seven
Although they weren't the first of the genre, Sunny Day Real Estate were instrumental in establishing the emo genre. The bassist went on to play in a band known as Foo Fighters (maybe you've heard of them?). Rediscovered Sunny Day Real Estate while listening to Jawbreaker and Planes Mistaken for Stars (the latter is similar to Sunny Day Real Estate). If you're into early Jimmy Eat World (i.e., "What I Would Say To You Now") you would hella dig Sunny Day, especially since so many parallels are drawn between the bands. Also, Paramore covered "Faces in Disguise" by Sunny Day.
