Ryan Gosling is So Indie

And apparently has a band of sorts. He's done a number of indie movies that I've really wanted to see (while his mainstream ones, other than The Notebook and his small role in Remember the Titans, are forgettable), but apparently he's decided to venture into music. Considering his fellow Mickey Mouse Club alumni, it could be successful, but the stuff he does is anything but pop.

The band seems to be Gosling, a guy named Zach Shields, and a children's choir. They describe their style on MySpace as Gothic, Gospel, Showtunes. I'm not really sure how to categorize it myself.

Interestingly enough, they're on Werewolf Heart Records, some small label. The same one as Ima Robot.

This sounded like Flashdance's "What a Feeling" (on the piano), for a second.

I never thought of adding a children's choir to indie music... Creative. It's an interesting but pleasing mix of talent :].
